Hello Toggers!

New Year New You
Happy New Year Toggers! We’re already over a week into 2026 – and I’m already excited for what this year has in store!
January is typically the time of making resolutions – we start the new year with the good intentions for the changes we’re going to make in our lives, with the aim to be healthier and fitter. If you’re anything like me, chance are in years gone by you’ve started strong but somewhere along the way you revert back to old habits. But what’s the best way to stick at it?
Studies have shown that it can take 66 days to form a new habit – the first 22 days you fight against it, the middle 22 days you find balance and by the end of the final 22 days the new habit has become the norm. Perseverance is the key.
Sometimes we get caught up in the moment – making big grand gestures as to what we’re going to do but if instead you took a moment to look at the smaller things that you could change then maybe you’ll find it easier to stick to. Whether it’s setting your morning alarm clock just 5 or 10 minutes earlier each morning to allow you some extra time for some breathwork or meditation before starting your day, getting off the bus or tube a stop earlier to get those extra steps in or switching brands on your weekly grocery shop to a healthier alternative – each little thing helps you achieve the new you.
A walk at the end of the earth!
The Cornish name for Lands End, Penn an Wlas, translates as End of the Earth – and that’s where we’re going for our walk this week. The Lands End Artists Walk is one that I did as part of my series of Cornwall and Devon walks a few years ago and, certainly at this time of year, will be one where you feel the power of the wind coming in off the Atlantic Ocean so make sure you wrap up warm!
Four Things For You
Whether you’re staying closer to home or travelling further afield – may you walk yourself happy in the year ahead!
