Hello Toggers!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

The clocks have changed, the kids are off school for a couple of weeks and we have two bank holidays ahead of us to make a lovely long weekend. This is a great time of year to get outside, enjoy the spring sunshine (if the weather gods are on our side) and witness the new life that is beginning to unfold.

This is the time of year I love getting the family together and going for a walk together and our walk this week is one of our favourites. Whilst I love going for a solo wander, there is something special about walking with others – walking is a social activity that fosters relationships, cements friendships and stimulates conversation. The shared experience of being with others trigger your feel good hormones (dopamine and oxytocin) and help reduce stress and anxiety levels.

If your family aren’t keen on going for a walk, or if you are looking for opportunities to meet others in your area who you could go for a walk with – there are walking groups across the length and breadth of the country.

Crieff – The Knock

A walk up The Knock of Crieff

As I child we often used to holiday in Crieff and now it’s somewhere I love to take my family too. The Knock is a hill that overlooks the town. The route starts from the Crieff Hydro Hotel (which is a lovely place to stay if you’re visiting the area). It’s not a gentle climb – but the views make up for it from the top.

The Outdoor Guide Foundation

From donation to dirty feet

When you support the Waterproofs & Wellies Foundation, your gift becomes something very real: a child stepping outside with their classmates, not watching from the window.

‘ The donation of the waterproofs and wellies means so much to our children. We will be able to take them out into the local community, as well as the school yard, to explore and enrich their learning experiences through the outdoors. The children will remain warm and happy, whilst having fun and learning in the outdoor environment, which has a wealth of benefits to both physical and mental well-being, for now and for their future.’
